Back to the #1 issue people come here to resolve...
INSECURITY - about who they are or what they once were.
β
Insecurity covers anxiety, low self-esteem, lack of confidence and uncertainty about ourselves. It’s a BIG one. If you’ve felt any of these… or if you’re here in the Life Camp email club because you’re looking for a way to heal your insecurity or at a minimum, feel a little better, we want you to know you’re not alone. It's way more common than most people realize.

AND! Insecurity, when left unchecked, will steal your joy, rob you of success and keep you playing small and feeling stuck. It creates confusion, leads to indecisiveness, fuels those shame filled, not-good-enough stories and keeps you from owning the FUCK out of who you are and who you are becoming.

Whew, despite all that... it’s not a life sentence. Feeling plagued with insecurity, does not mean you are defined by it. Just because it’s been a part of your life and maybe even your personality up till now, doesn’t mean it has to continue to be this way. How's that for some good news?

Change is possible, personality isn’t permanent and the past doesn’t get to define you.

We want to offer up a new perspective for you to try on. It may feel a little edgy, bring up resistance or seem downright impossible… but by now you know (or you’ll soon learn) we like to give it to you straight. This is not the sugar-coated version of personal development… this is the raw, powerful, leading edge of you calling your power back to you to heal, thrive and create with purpose.

What if these parts of you not only add to the tapestry of rich human experience you've undergone, but are also all opportunities to collect data about who you are, who you’re not, and ultimately who you want to become.β

For thousands of years humans have been led by narrative; we create stories to help us make sense of the world. This has served our survival to some extent, but often we become overly attached to the stories we tell ourselves and when the story sucks, typically our reality does too.

Great. Since you’re willing to play with this new perspective of life happening for you instead of to you, let’s play a game… because self-help shit is fun! π
βSide note: if at any point this feels triggering or like too big a stretch for you to do alone right now, take a deep breath and pivot. Go for a walk or listen to this relaxing guided meditation. It’s ok. You may need more support.β

GAME TIME -
1. Make a list of the top 5-10 shitty things you’ve been through or experienced. Anything from, “that really sucked” to “that really fucked me up.”
β
2. Take a deep breath, look at the first thing on your list, then close your eyes and ask yourself:
How was this experience actually life happening for me?
Maybe an answer pops right up, or maybe you need a few deep breaths… this step requires you to get a little curious, let go of the judgment, let go of the old story, just for a minute and see what else could be there for you.
β
3. Write down what you found in step two. What you gained from the experience - the medicine, awareness, and wisdom that you were able to extract from it, even if it REALLY sucked. This step is all about reclaiming your power and agency.
β
4. Now...for the real kicker aka fun stuff:
Next to the experience, write a statement or story about how you are going to start telling your new story when this experience is brought up or thoughts of insecurity wash over you when relating to it.

For example:β
β
π Your estranged dad who was a dick to you as a kid is NOW “a man who taught me boundaries”
β
π Your ex who treated you like shit, but now appears to have a perfect life on social media with his new wife/husband is NOW “ the man/woman who helped me define what I do not want and in turn, clarified my desire even more for what I do want.”
β
π Your sexual assault at age 11 where you were victimized and unseen is NOW “the catalyst to me reclaiming my sexuality and increasing my ability to hold space and empathize with others who have been hurt.”
There are perspectives that can either hold you back or lift you up. YOU get to choose.
β
β5. After you complete steps 1-4 for the first experience on your list, we encourage you to go back through and do it for the rest of them. You can do it all at once or take it slow over a few days. Some experiences may be easier to navigate than others, that’s ok. Give yourself a little extra love, care and sleep.
β
After you complete this game we recommend this “Letting Go and Calling In” guided meditation as a powerful way to release the past and reinforce the new stories you are ready to tell.
