What do chocolate, bare feet and kissing have to do with healing?

Adorned with oils and intoxicating scents
Sleeping in late… like waaay past the alarm… guilt free
Hot showers
Barefoot on concrete after a summer rain
Quiet house, tea, blanket and a book you can’t pull yourself away from
Windows down, music loud… driving, just because
A phone date you’ve put off with an old friend who you adore
Hot body jumping into cool water
The early morning yoga class that sets you just right
That kiss you’re still thinking about
Your time in the garden where everything makes sense
The art you make that you often get lost in
What do all these have in common?
PLEASURE…
Incorporating pleasure into your daily life uplifts the spirit, nurtures your heart and brings more ease to the healing journey. Pleasure is the antidote to anxiety, depression and overwhelm... if you are feeling stuck, frustrated or just meh, pleasure will help you flip the script.
Experiencing pleasure lights up the brain and bathes your nervous system in feel good endorphins!
You want these neurochemicals!! Trust me!! And we get it, carving out time for lavish vacations, massages and fine dining isn’t always an option (although, I highly recommend all of these) but bringing moments of pleasure into your everyday reality is.
Start off small by intentionally bringing pleasure into things you’re already doing. Your morning coffee for example, sip it slow- be easy with it, taste it, enjoy it… turn off distractions for a few minutes and allow yourself to be in the moment experiencing your coffee and the sensations surrounding it.
Or your daily hygiene routine: shower, teeth brushing, lotion, whatever…. Or maybe your morning commute? Music? Essential Oils? Conversation? Feel Good Podcast? Scenic Route?

- Slow it down
- Be mindful of the sensations and your senses (smell, touch, taste, sound, sight, feeling)
- Incorporate flavors, scents, sounds to make it more enjoyable and/or relaxing
- Tell yourself everyday: THIS IS IMPORTANT- PLEASURE IS NECESSARY FOR HEALING AND THRIVING
- Talk about your experience(s) with pleasure with your friends, kids, colleagues…. Milk the juice from it, get others on board!
- Keep it simple (but juicy)
During these times of chaos and confusion, allow pleasure to be the compass in which you rely upon. Pleasure supports our alignment and reminds us to stay to connected not only to each other but to our sacred journey here on earth.
