Why we want you to fail, no really, we do!

Failure has gotten such a bad rap over the years…

We are so afraid to fail.

For good reason! Failure almost always includes feeling embarrassed, not good enough and sometimes even shame or worse, it can mean being ostracized from friends and family or our community. We are inundated with raving stories of overnight success, winning against all odds and perfect Instagram feeds of folks having all their 'ish together. But rarely do we see all the stumbles, falls and outright failures it took to get there. Dig deep enough and you'll soon discover, behind every single success is a LOAD of failures.

In the hero’s journey, failure is the villain. It comes in the forms of challenge, torture, temptation and even, flat-out-fall-on-your-face failure and is often the lynchpin to lasting transformation, growth and ultimately success. (Interestingly, we are often equally, if not more afraid to *really* succeed. But that’s a story for another day!)

We love coaching our clients and Life Campers through their failures… why? This is often where massive momentum & passion are born! And, failure is always easier to integrate and learn from with a little support!

Today I'd like you to consider, what if, like Maleficent, failure isn’t the villain? What if it’s actually what we should all be aiming for?

What if you started to practice embracing failure?

Consider what comes out of failure…

Clarity!

Insight!

Knowing what doesn’t work!

Failure can actually give you a jumping off point.

It highlights where are we have more room for growth!

It's also a COMPLETELY natural and imperative part of the process to heal, grow and thrive!

Most of my -scratch that- All of my awesome successes were born out of perceived failure. Failure just might be the mother to living a good life! Show me one successful awesome person you admire, and I guarantee you if we looked under the hood, that success was built on a ton of failure.

​

What if we started congratulating ourselves & others just as much on our failures as we do on our success? Plot twist! The failure villain is actually the heroine! The magic portal to your not-yet-imagined dreams coming true.

​

Instead of being sad, ashamed, and commiserating about our failure, we could bring out the champagne (or sparkly water) and celebrate!
